SYNOPSIS

Dennis and Brianna have what is obviously a troubled marriage: Brianna doesn’t love him anymore, and Dennis has thrown himself head first into what he believes is religious salvation. In a moment of desperation, Dennis hires a private company to test Brianna’s sexual loyalty. It’s a fateful decision that brings Antonio, a handsome playboy, into their lives. Hired to use his womanizing skills in order to break up marriages on behalf of greedy husbands, Antonio is consistently successful at what he does, and this case should be just another day on the job. But instead of being assigned a stranger for whom he has little remorse, Antonio finds himself face-to-face with his ex-fiance…Brianna.

Shocked by the sight of his former love, he runs away, attempting to dive back into his work. But after eight years without her, Brianna is all Antonio can think about it. Taking stock of his empty life, Antonio decides he must seize this chance for redemption – to win back the love he drove away. They meet, reconnect, and the old butterflies are back. Brianna returns home to Dennis and a dark, negative home and begins to wonder what could have been. Dennis, realizing that he has unwittingly brought together ex-lovers, turns to heavy drug use that propels him into a confused, paranoid state.

But Antonio is too eager to rewind, unable to understand why Brianna is hesitatant. After a romantic, nearly adulterous night, Brianna shrinks back and refuses to take it any further. Eight years with Dennis still has a hold on her. She ends all further meetings with Antonio – angry that he has made her feel this way, that he has presumed to know what she wants. She returns home to Dennis, filled with guilt and shame, attempting to capture a fleeting moment of contentment. Dennis has a chance to salvage the relationship, but he is too far gone. It is too late. Drugs and delusion have taken over his life, and he becomes a violent, abusive shell of himself.

Believing that her life with the changed Dennis is all she has left, Brianna attempts to destroy all of her expensive possessions in a rage. Meanwhile, Antonio quits his job and drives off to an unknown destination, unable to cope with the thought of losing Brianna a second time.

Dennis comes across Brianna’s discarded wedding rings and goes over the brink, holing himself up in a cheap motel and stocking up on cocaine. But without closure, he sees her everywhere and calls her, mistaking a delivery man’s voice for Antonio’s. He drives back, armed and enraged. Antonio, receiving a strange phone call from his boss “X” about going to check on Brianna, turns back from his trip.

By the time Antonio reaches Dennis and Brianna’s home, Brianna has a gun to Dennis’s head. Before long, Dennis is pointing his own gun at Antonio, and the love triangle threatens to turn violent. Brianna begins to unravel her feelings and as Dennis begins to register that she does not want him anymore, X barges in the door and knocks Dennis out. Disarmed, they all face the reality of the situation: X assigned Antonio to Brianna’s case deliberately, hoping they would rekindle their love and make up for what he believed was a regretful career that he encouraged Antonio to pursue.

Dennis, rejected and reeling from events that unfolded because of his own decision, returns to the motel alone, hopeless. Antonio realizes that Brianna does indeed want – and love – him, and they fall into each other’s arms, unaware that miles away Dennis is about to take his life.
